I never would have expected that my time in Melbourne would result in puppy-love. This is Vasco. I needed a place to stay...he needed a carer while his owners went to New York. A few days before I moved into his home in Brunswick, he was diagnosed with lymphatic cancer. The two weeks I spent with him were deeply moving. His sad eyes made me weep. His anxiousness left me feeling helpless. His unlimited affection made it impossible not to utterly adore him. Initially the vet gave him a couple of months to live but the chemo seems to be working and they are now saying he could be wagging his tail for up to a year.
